What is "I'M IN?"
The "I'M IN" Vision Intiative is a challenge to all members of Calvary First Baptist church to step out in faith and give sacrificially to help Calvary First become a more effective church in our community.
Our goal is $100,000 by the summer of 2018. It is a God-sized vision that will require equal sacrifice--not equal gifts.
Why are we doing "I'M IN?"
Here is a breakdown of the specifics of the initiative and how the funds will be used.
50% debt reduction
God has provided us beautiful building that is an amazing tool to reach people in our community. We are very grateful for this gift and how God has used it over the past several years, and we realize the impact it will have in the future. Currently, we owe approximately $490,000 on our building loans with a monthly payment of $5,025. By paying down the principal by $50,000 over two years we will see tremendous savings and be able to pay off our debt much faster. This will enable us to direct these funds toward reaching people in our community.
The heart of the church is to “go and make disciples of all nations.” That has been our legacy, and it is our focus as we look to the future. Over the next 2 years, our goal is to direct $10,000 towards new church startups in the state of Texas as well as local outreach efforts such as Sharing Life Community Outreach, which helps provide food, clothing, and many other resources for 65,000 people each year. We would also love to partner with schools by providing meals for their backpack programs.
15% building upgrades
Our building continues to be used by God to bring people to Him. We want to make sure that we continue to improve it and make it an even more effective tool for His glory. $15,000 of our initiative funds will be directed toward adding some lighting in our auditorium, sprucing up our foyer to make it more inviting, and updating our children’s area for our amazing kiddos!
25% worship and youth staffing
As we look toward the future, we want to make sure that we are properly staffed to equip believers for the ministry. $25,000 over the next two years will go towards increasing our current student pastor’s salary and toward securing a permanent worship leader.
You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don't give reluctantly or in response to pressure. "For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” (2 Corinthians 9:7 NLT)
Don't store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. (Matthew 6:19-21 NLT )
